• ¿How can I check availability?
    The best way to do that is by contacting us. We have an availability calendar but last-minute reservations or cancelations may not show yet.
  • How do I book an apartment?
    You can use our on-line form, or contact us by e-mail (casaelsomni@gmail.com) or telephone. We will ask you to make a deposit of 30% of your total amount due in advance and we might ask large groups for a surety.
  • How will you confirm my reservation?
    We will give you our bank account number for you to make a deposit of 30% of your total amount due, and we will send you a confirmation e-mail with all of your reservation data after receiving your payment.
  • How do I pay for my remaining balance due?
    Upon your arrival, in cash. We apologize for not taking credit cards.
  • Do I need to bring any documents?
    Your name and a contact telephone number are enough to book an apartment, but we do need the ID/Passport of everyone who is over 18 years old to fill in a traveler report for the police upon your arrival.
  • Do children count for occupancy?
    All children over 2 years old count for occupancy. Babies sleeping in cribs do not. And yes, we do have a crib available.
  • Do you make any discounts?
    There is one price for the year (including long weekends) with a minimum stay length of 2 nights. There is another price for more than 6 nights in July and August, and a lower one for more than 6 nights the rest of the year. Guests staying for longer than 2 weeks have a 10% discount. There is an additional charge only for the two nights during New Year.
  • I don’t know the way there, could you send me a map?
    You can find the location of our house in Google Maps on our website, and with your confirmation e-mail we will send you a map of La Drova with the location of our house and the itineraries from main cities such as Valencia, Madrid, or Alicante.
  • What are the coordinates of the house for our GPS?

  • ¿How can I check availability?
    For two-night stays (a weekend), your check-in time should be no earlier than 5:00 pm and your check-out time no later 5:00 or 6:00 pm, or maybe a little later if the weather is good. For three-night stays or longer, we have more flexible hours when possible. For summer stays and with the house being fully booked, we cannot always grant a late check out, since both arrival and departure times depend on our customers.
  • Who will give me my apartment keys?
    We, Berta and Jesús, will be at the house at the agreed time to welcome you, give you your keys, and show you our facilities.
  • Will I be penalized in case of cancelation?
    If you notify a cancelation earlier than 20 days before your arrival date, we will refund 100% of your deposit. If a cancelation is notified 7 to 20 days in advance, 50% of your deposit will be refunded. If no cancelation is notified earlier than 7 days before your arrival date, no refund will be made. These periods are longer for bookings in July and August. For a complete refund, you must cancel your reservation earlier than 30 days in advance; cancelation 20 to 30 days in advance incurs a 50% refund; and less than 20 days in advance will entail no refund. Under no circumstances will your total payment be refunded should your stay be cut short ahead of schedule.
  • Do the apartments have a balcony or a terrace?
    Both the Apartamento Los Pinos and the Apartamento Las Vistas have wide terraces of 22 m2 (237 sq ft) with a table, 6 chairs, 2 low armchairs, and an awning. El Madroño and Los Arcos have a smaller balcony with a pedestal table and two chairs. All of them overlook the mountains and the garden.
  • Do I have to bring my own towels?
    Our apartments are fully equipped with bed and bath linen. You will only have to bring swimming pool towels. If you’re taking a plane, though, don’t worry, don’t pack your suitcases with bulky towels, we will lend them to you.
  • Can I drink tap water?
    Yes, tap water is totally fit for human consumption although people sometimes prefer mineral water because of its taste. Both in La Drova and in Puigmola, you can find natural springs where you can fill your water bottles.
  • Is smoking allowed?
    Smoking is allowed in the apartments and in the common areas, but we ask you to respect non-smokers. Special care must be taken when extinguishing cigarettes, even in the garden, since they can cause a fire to start. To facilitate this task, we have placed ashtrays in the apartments, the garden and around the swimming pool.
  • Is there cell phone coverage?
    Yes, that is not a problem.
  • Can I invite people over?
    The swimming pool as well as the apartments and the common facilities are reserved exclusively for our customers. Inviting family or friends over is permitted in consultation with the house owners and within reasonable limits, but only customers may use the swimming pool and the common areas. Guests may under no circumstances stay in the apartments overnight.
  • Is the house adapted to people with reduced mobility?
    Given the design of the old building, we are sorry to say the house is not adapted to people with reduced mobility.
  • How many floors does the building have? Is there an elevator?
    The building has two floors and there is no elevator.
  • Are the apartments far from each other?
    All four apartments are in the same building, two on the first floor, two on the second floor.
  • When does the swimming pool open?
    You can use the swimming pool from April to October.
  • Is there a barbecue? Or a Paellero? What about firewood?
    A 45-square-meter paellero-house (484 sq ft) is available for rent in the garden at additional cost including any firewood you need, hot water, lighting, refrigerator, microwave, and gas stove. This possibility is offered to large groups (2-3 apartments) or to smaller groups if there are no other guests during those dates. The renting of the paellero is not available during July or August.
  • Are the apartments cleaned during my stay?
    The apartments are cleaned before and after the stay of our customers. Guests are responsible for the cleaning of their apartments during their stay. We can also hire a cleaning service charging by the hour for you if you prefer. We, the house owners, are responsible for the cleaning of the swimming pool and the common areas.
  • Is there air conditioning in the apartments?
    We do not have air conditioning because summer nights are usually cool and all apartments have windows on both sides of the building.
  • Are the apartments warm in the winter??
    We will heat your apartment the day before your arrival to ensure the most comfortable temperature. You can change the temperature at any time with the thermostat.
  • Can I bring my pet?
    In the summer, when the house is fully booked, we do not accept pet animals to avoid trouble with other guests. For weekend-stays, we may be able to accept them depending on the characteristics of the animal. Please, check with us in advance. Will you take care of our baggage if we have to leave our apartment but our flight leaves much later? Yes, of course. And you can also stay in the garden or at the swimming pool.
  • Where can I park my car?
    We have no parking area, but you can park your car in the (dead-end) street in front of the apartments, where there’s enough space and you’ll be able to see your car from the window in your apartment.
  • What kind of stores can I find in Barx?
    Barx is just 2 km (1.25 mi) away and offers all types of services: three butcher’s shops, two bakeries, two supermarkets, two stationer’s shops/cigar stores, a pharmacy, “dollar stores”, and a little street market is set up every Tuesday morning.
  • Is there somewhere to eat nearby?
    Both in La Drova and in Barx, there are several different bars and restaurants where you can try the different local rice dishes and cuisine in general. On top of this, Gandía offers a much more complete service just 15 minutes away.
  • Will you make a discount if a member of the group does not stay for the whole period of time?
    Our agreement involves the renting of a complete apartment for a specific number of people and for a certain period of time. If the number of guests decreases during your stay, no discount will be made.
  • What should I do in the case of a fire?
    Contact the reception desk — and thus us personally — by ringing the corresponding bell. If we’re not there, call us on our contact number.
  • Do the Casa El Somni apartments comply with the Valencian law?
    Yes, our apartments are registered as Tourist Accommodation according to the law of the Conselleria de Turismo de Valencia. I have some other questions… We are happy to answer your questions. Just contact us by e-mail or telephone.
